1. What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you think about goal setting?
Goal setting is something other people do ? I just don?t have the time I have plenty of goals written down that I want to achieve, and I pick one at a time and start working towards it in a logical manner I have lots of goals floating around in my head ? I just need to find the time to sit down and make a plan so that I can start achieving them I dream about what I?d like to achieve all the time
2. How often do you think about setting goals?
I?m always dreaming about what it would be like to have a bigger house, a better job, a nicer car? I?m so busy I don?t often have the time to think about setting any goals Every day. Even if I am currently pursuing a goal I very much want to attain, I still make notes of any other goals I may want to achieve in the future Every day. I have so many ideas for goals and things I want to do and be successful at that I don?t know which one to start with first
3. Are you currently working towards a goal you really want to achieve?
I?d like to be ? I?ve got lots of ideas and I?ve started a few times but I always get distracted No - the days fly by so quickly I hardly have time to think about it Yes - I make sure I do something to take another step closer to reaching my goal every single day I keep thinking how nice it would be to change jobs and do something I really love for a change? but no I?m not doing anything at the moment
4. Do you have a strategy for achieving your goals?
It?s not really a strategy ? I just imagine what it will be like to get the job I really want It?s kind of in my head, but I haven?t got anything written down ? it?s just a few ideas I have floating round If I have it?s buried under all the mental reminders I have to do for other stuff! Yes. I have a written plan that I look at every day. I constantly know what I should be doing to make progress towards my goal
5. What do you do when you experience a setback on the journey towards your goal?
It?s never happened. I don?t ever seem to be able to start the journey in the first place I try and learn from it and then move forward again I?ve not really had a setback; I haven?t really got started yet In my imagination everything is just how I want it, there aren?t any setbacks
6. Do you allow time every day to make progress towards your goals?
Yes, I plan my days in advance so I know what needs to be done to get closer to achieving my goal My diary is too full of other things to do I try but I?ve never got anything written down and what I want to do always seems to get forgotten No, I?m too busy daydreaming about them
7. What have you traditionally done in the past when you have achieved a worthwhile goal?
I wouldn?t have time to celebrate even if I did manage to reach a goal I?d set for myself I often sit and imagine what I would do if I succeeded in reaching a goal but I?m still waiting to find out I haven?t managed to achieve any of my goals yet I celebrate! I allow myself some time out to enjoy my success before deciding on what I want to achieve next
8. What do you think when you see a successful person who obviously sets and achieves virtually every goal they set for themselves?
It?s nice that dreams come true for some people I admire them and try to learn from their example It?s nice that they have the time to work towards their goals I think they?re great ? I wish I could be like that
9. How many goals are you working towards at any one time?
Just the one ? I find it helps me to focus better and achieve more I barely have time to make room for one thing that I want to achieve I?ve got several on the go in my head, but I never seem to make much progress I sit and think about what my ideal life would be like quite a lot ? is that what you mean?
10. Do you know what goal you want to achieve the most in the coming year?
Yes ? I have it written down in my diary Yes I?ve got lots of goals in my head that I?d like to achieve Probably a new house would be nice, and maybe a new car, and I might do something about changing my job too I haven?t had the time to think about it much yet
